The Obici House is a historic mansion located in Suffolk, Virginia at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. It was once home to the founder of Planters Peanuts; Amedeo Obici and his wife Louise.
The driveway is flanked by two lions, imported from Paris. The house is located in front of the 18th green and provides guests with a spectacular view of the sunsets each evening on the Nansemond River. This venue is filled with chandeliers, original stained glass windows, columns, tile and woodwork. Indoor events can accommodate up to 150 guests and unlimited guests outside. Wedding ceremonies may be held at the Pergola, with it’s scenic water front background; under the house portico framed by Greek columns and black and white marble floor, or indoors in the Suffolk room overlooking the river.
The Obici house was recently renovated and is up to date with amenities such as: a full commercial kitchen, multi zone air-conditioning with individual controls for each room, and a audio video system throughout the house. Seven large TV/ monitors have the capability of showing videos and slide shows. Music can be played throughout the house with individual volume control. The bar is equipped with 2 wine refrigerators, 2 kegerators and fountain soda system. Available on site are house linens, glassware, dinner plates , utensils and more. A spacious and beautifully decorated Bride’s dressing suite is located on the top floor. Ample parking and limo golf cart available for service.
